Meet Bekah - Owner & Photographer
I'm a wife, a mom, a middle child, and a photographer. I've been in photography for over 20 years, and I've photographed everything! For a long time, I concentrated my photography on families and landscapes, but really found my passion when I found Boudoir Photography.
In my early 30s, I was suddenly a busy mom struggling with weight issues due to some health issues. I needed to find something to help me feel good about this new body. I had heard of Boudoir Photography before but because I didn't like my body as it was I was afraid to have a session. I came across a photographer who was advertising her Boudoir Photography as a way of accepting and celebrating the body you're in. I contacted her immediately for a session. I just knew she would be able to help me accept my new body and find a way to feel like myself again.
This was when I decided I needed to do this for others. I know most women find themselves at a point in their lives where they feel like they've lost themselves. I decided to help as many people as I could through my photography. I changed my focus to Boudoir Photography and threw myself in as far as I could go. I studied everything I could get my hands on, and I attended as many seminars as I could find before I took my first client. I've studied with some of the top boudoir photographers in the country, and I've built my business with a focus on helping as many people as I can. I am always attending conferences and workshops to continue my growth as a Boudoir Photographer and serve my clients in the best way I can. Boudoir has been the main focus of my photography since 2018, and I graduated as a Certified Professional Boudoir Photographer in August 2018. My studio, New Light Boudoir in Oakdale MN, was voted one of Minnesota's best Photographers for 2023.
I love to empower my clients and help them reclaim their beauty, find confidence and acceptance for who they are, and celebrate wherever they are in life. For every paid Session Fee, I donate to a local organization called Women's Advocates. This organization helps women and children leave a life of abuse and get back on their feet by providing shelter, therapy and education.

Our Studio - New Light Boudoir
New Light Boudoir was officially opened by Bekah in Spring 2018. We have had studio spaces in Lake Elmo, Stillwater, and Oakdale. Since the official opening we have photographed over 130 Boudoir Clients in our studio and on location.
Located in Oakdale, MN, our studio is conveniently located just off both Hwy 94 and Hwy 494. Our expert, all female staff are pros at working with people from all backgrounds, of all sizes, colors and ages. Our favorite thing about what we do is getting to know each and every one of our clients, and being part of their journey.
We offer professional hair styling and makeup application from one of our stylists right in our studio. We schedule enough time in each appointment for clients to have a makeover before the photo session without having to make multiple stops. Our clients love not having to worry about traveling through unpredictable Minnesota weather with their makeovers.
We have multiple studio sets to ensure there's something for everyone and any outfit our clients bring. Our studio provides a private, cozy, luxurious atmosphere made to add something special to the photos without taking the focus off the main subject - YOU!
We also have a "No Wait Policy", which means we schedule enough time with each session to go over your photos right after we are done! You don't have to wait to see how beautiful you are!
